Join WNYPE‘s March meeting focused on bicycling from an energy and emissions perspective. Learn how cycling can play an important part in reducing the impacts of transportation. A brief history of the bicycle, itself, will be followed by the engineering and technology factors that make bicycles an efficient mode of transport. A comparison of ebikes and EVs will include batteries, weight and lifecycle emissions. Health and other benefits of cycling will be reviewed along with some guidance specific to Buffalo and Rochester.
Attendees will gain a greater appreciation for the bicycle as an engineering marvel and a simple means to improve health and wellbeing and reduce one’s carbon footprint. The presentation is approved for 1 PDH.
