The Marsha P. Johnson Gate: Engineering challenges in the Design of an Artistic Structure

This unique arched gateway welcomes visitors to the Marsha P. Johnson State Park in Brooklyn, NY.  Joe led the structural design of this $2.3M ornamental gateway that combines structural steel, aluminum bronze, and integral 2 part resins.  The discussion will describe the challenges and solutions to the design, analysis, and constructability.
