Li S. Liu, P.E. Memorial Scholarship
Li S. Liu, P.E. was one of our chapter’s greatest supporters. He was President in 1978-79 and continued to work endlessly with the student chapters and in membership recruitment for our chapter until his death in 1991.
Jointly administered by the Erie Niagara Chapter of the NY State Society of Professional Engineers and The Community Foundation for a Greater Buffalo; This scholarship is given annually to qualifying high school seniors from Western New York who are accepted into an accredited college engineering program. (Previous awards have ranged from $500.00 to $3,000.00) Deadline for submission is February 28, 2025
Richard Wohler, P.E. Memorial/Hutch-Tech High School Scholarship
This scholarship was bequeathed to our chapter by Richard Wohler, P.E. upon his death at the age of 92 in 1992. Mr. Wohler served as Treasurer/Membership Secretary from 1951 until 1977 when the duties were split. He retained the position of Membership Secretary from 1977 until 1986. He served a record 35 years of continuous service as a chapter officer. Our chapter’s dedicated service award was renamed the Basinski-Wohler Award in his honor in 1980.

(Previous awards have ranged from $500.00 to $2,500.00). Deadline for submission is February 28, 2025.
